Two minutes into the third quarter of tonight's fourth quarterfinal game in Division 3-A, Team King had built a 25-2 lead over Team Mischik.

Time to start up the bus!  Nice Season!  All the appropriate cliches were ready to be spoken. 

There wasn't any reason for the team in RED to play any longer.  In fact, it had been very difficult for the team to get a shot off at the basket, much less score.

But no one had told the team to stop playing.  When a shot was finally made, a cheer went up from the crowd.  But then another shot went in, and another, and another.  Fourteen points in all and by the end of the third quarter, there was hope.

The improbable run continued into the final eight minutes.  With three minutes remaining, the once 23 points lead was trimmed to just six at 28-22. 

Unfortunately for the team in RED, the comeback came at the price of increased defensive intensity and personal fouls.  This put Team King was in the double bonus situation.  The team in WHITE made their free throws and won the game 32-22.

The team in RED showed determination, heart, and their true character this evening.  Hats off to Team Mischik!
